Lovin the Burlap Fabric!
There are so many different things you can do with burlap. I love working with it. My latest projects are burlap door hangers. Well they can be hung wherever you like, but door hangers are a good start!
I have one that I made with 3 different colors of burlap, the natural color, white and country blue.
I made a whimsical little owl. I don't know, he's pretty cute but kinda reminds me of a character from the show "South Park." teehee. Oh well, I thinks he's cute.
I have the owl and another door hanger I made with a painted bunny on it. Lately I have been drawn to the retro, paisley designs from the 1960's and 1970's. They are both available at my etsy store.
Along with some other items I have made. Here's the link to my store.

Colorful Handmade Wreaths
I had my hand slammed shut in a car door so it has been difficult for me to work on my bears or my jewelry. So, I have another hobby that I love doing during the time my hand is healing. I have made some door wreaths! This one pictured first is in our favorite colors. I know they are somewhat autumn in color, so I added some white and yellow dasies to make the wreath pop with color!
I have it available at my etsy shop.

New Etsy Shop!
I have opened a second shop on Etsy, it's called "Sugar Time Designs!" The inspiration for the name came from an old western group called "The Collins Kids" Be my little Honey, (Sugar Time). It's a Southern expression, "Give me some sugar," a kiss.
Anyway, It's a shop where I'm going to list my handmade wire wrapped jewelry and leather accessories. I really love making the jewelry. It seems to be an exciting artistic venture for me ;)

Homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup
This is the first time I've made this soup.
We were very pleased with the way it turned out!
I got the recipe from "The Pioneer Woman" website.
What awesome recipes she has!
Sauteed green and red peppers with onion in olive oil.
The colors are so pretty.
Baked strips of chicken breast seasoned and drizzled with olive oil.
Tear it in to bite size pieces and toss around in the oil and seasoning.
Dump into the chicken broth, rotel, sauteed veggies, tomato paste and more seasoning.
Add a very large can of black beans. Simmer for a couple hours.
Before serving, cut up some corn tortillas into strips and gently stir into soup.
Top with a dollop of sour cream and avocado!
Yumm!!

Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes!
One thing I love is a cherry on top of a hot fudge sundae, don't you?
This was my idea for my embellished devil food cake-cupcakes.
It is so simple to mix up.
With a icing that just melts in your mouth with buttery sweet goodness!
First we have the ingredients.
Just dump them all in your mixer. Simple right?
Mix it all for 1 1/2 minutes.
You don't want to over mix this.
With the pudding mix, it tends to thicken fast.
I used a ice cream scoop.
It's just the right size for the cupcake.
Bake them for 20 minutes.
Pretty huh!
Let them cool.
Prepare the ingredients for you icing.
Let's talk a second about butter.
Yes, that creamy, dreamy dairy product you must have for a perfect icing.
Please purchase the good stuff.
I know it is expensive.
But it really does make a difference in the results for a great topping ;)
Take your 1 cup of milk and 5 T flour over low-medium heat.
Continue to whisk until thick like a paste.
If you stop whisking, it can become lumpy very fast.
We want it to be fairly smooth.
The paste needs to cool to room temperature.
If you add it to the butter/sugar mixture, it will melt it.
If you add it to the butter/sugar mixture, it will melt it.
That's what we don't want.
If you are in a hurry like I always am,
Put the paste in a bowl and place in the freezer in the ice bin for a few minutes.
It works ;)
Cream the butter.
Add the vanilla.
Then blend some more.
While mixer is going, add the sugar slowly.
When all the sugar is added,
scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Then, take you cooled milk/flour paste.
Slowly add it as the mixer is on low.
When it is all incorporated, beat the heck out of it ;)
Put that baby on high and let it go for 3-4 minutes.
You want to to look like whipped cream.
Then take your index finger, dip in and take a taste test.
Then slowly open your eyes, and take another.
Just to be sure you tasted it right the first time :D
Also, you want to make sure that all the sugar crystals have disolved into the butter.
Cover your yummy cupcakes with the heavenly icing.
Then grab the first one for yourself.
Before the kids and hubby scarf them all up!!
